Full Job Description:
Procurement Solutions International is a produce importer/exporter company that provides top quality produce, locally and globally sourced. Our company is expanding and looking for a detail-oriented and driven Director of Business Development to join our team. Reporting to the CEO, you will be in charge of supporting the development of our business.
Duties Include:
- Develop and implement an annual sales and budgeting plan
- Develop company strategic plan
- Spearhead customer recruitment and retention
- Develop new products
- Manage and cultivate supplier relations
- Brand management and development
- Recruitment and development of new team members
Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about the produce industry with an authentic approach to business development
- Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure
- Experienced in developing strategic plans
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, as well as be an active team member.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage and recruit teams
- Innovative problem solver
- Ability to operate both at high level strategic/market level and also down at the detailed tactical level (e.g., spreadsheet analysis, developing presentations, etc.)
- Ability to converse with key decision-makers in an organization and comfortable with negotiation
- Be a strategic and creative thinker, with the ability to make good and sometimes difficult decisions
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving results
- Excellent interpersonal skills and judgment to effectively develop customer accounts
- Ability to deal with situations when information is difficult to obtain or is complex
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications. Experience with Sage 50 accounting an asset
- Willing and able to travel periodically domestically and internationally
Education:
- Technical BASc Degree, engineering credentials would be an asset
- Bachelor’s Degree (required)
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience in fresh produce trade, production experience is beneficial
- Entrepreneurship experience
- Experience building relationships and working with Mexican and/or Spanish suppliers
Salary compensation to be determined according to the level of experience.
